Despite an expected decline of 0.7% to 139 million metric tons (MT), global poultry production in 2024 will surpass the production of other protein sources compared to 2023’s output, according to data released in July 2024 by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) (Table 1).
